NOTE: With our new donation management system, once your donation has been processed, you will receive a receipt by email for each donation. Please note that this is NOT an official tax receipt; it is an acknowledgement of each gift as it comes in. You will still receive your official tax receipts for the year, early in the New Year, for all of the methods below.
During OfferingAttend our weekend services and make a donation in person using one of the giving envelopes we provide. This ensures you get your charitable donations receipt at year end as well as informs us of how you would like your gift allocated.
Offering EnvelopesIf you would like a set of offering envelopes please request them by filling in a connection form in the foyer or email firstname.lastname@example.org. These can be used for cheques or cash and your giving will be recorded for an annual donation receipt.
Fees: Monthly bank fees are charged to cover the processing of cheques and cash.
Pre-authorized GivingIf you have a pre-determined amount you wish to give every month, you can fill in and submit a pre-authorized giving form with your banking information. Funds will be automatically withdrawn from your bank account either once or twice a month, and the amount or frequency can be changed by emailing email@example.com.
Debit Machine (IN FOYER)
You can give by debit through the debit machine stationed just outside the main office at the Giving Station. Be sure to fill in your name and information on the envelope and leave the “merchant slip” in the envelope in order to be properly receipted for your donation. This can be used for receiptable donations or non-receiptable payments for events or resources.
Fees: There is a 25 cent fee charged to the donor for each transaction, and the church pays a monthly fee for the debit machine.
Online & Mobile Giving
You can now give online with a debit or credit card (as long as there is an expiry date on your card). This can be accessed through the Cobourg Alliance Church Center OR you can download the Church Center app for Apple or Android devices on your mobile phone and set up and manage your giving preferences there. Through your donor profile you can see your donation history and update your personal information such as email, phone number and address.
Fees: Canadian VISA & Mastercard can be used and fees of 2.2% + 30 cents per transaction are charged to the church for these options. (It is not currently possible to allow the donor to cover the cost of the fees with this system.).
On your mobile phone, text any amount to 84321 to give. You will be able to select your church, set up a payment method and you will be ready to go. Canadian VISA & Mastercard can be used, (as long as there is an expiry date on your card)
Fees: A fee of 2.2% + 30 cents per transaction is charged to the church for these options.
