Cobourg Alliance Church

New Ventures: Northumberland

WHAT IS THE IMPORTANT MESSAGE?

As part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, our church is committed to the multiplication of new churches that reach new people for Christ. This means that as God imparts vision for multiplicative ventures, we look to release and bless leaders to start these new works. Through a season of discernment and conversation with Pastor Andre and the Board of Elders, Pastor Ray has made the decision to resign his position as Associate Pastor at Cobourg Alliance in order for Ray and Trina to begin a New Venture with the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Northumberland County (beyond the borders of Cobourg) in the Spring of 2019.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR COBOURG ALLIANCE CHURCH

Pastor Ray will remain on staff at Cobourg Alliance Church until March 31st, 2019. For the month of January, he will fulfill the responsibilities as Associate Pastor, with February and March reflecting fewer responsibilities at CAC and more responsibilities associated with the New Venture. This will allow for a smooth transition for Ray and Trina into the next chapter of life and ministry while at the same time honouring the needs of CAC during this transition period. Pastor Andre and the Elders are prayerfully considering the needs of CAC with this staffing transition and will be updating the congregation in the coming days about next steps.

WHAT IS THE NEW VENTURE ABOUT?

New Ventures is the language that the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada uses to talk about the development of leaders to start new churches that reach new people. This particular New Ventures vision is to establish a network of Home Churches throughout Northumberland County, giving more people access to intentional Gospel communities. We are captivated by the mission of God to restore the lives of the world He loves and to help them discover their created identities. These smaller communities (House Churches) will be places where people can learn what it means to belong to God’s family and learn to become more like Him. Our public gatherings will eventually be held outside of Cobourg in other communities in Northumberland County such as (but not limited to) Port Hope, Colborne, Campbellford, etc.  To hear a personalized message from Ray and Trina, watch the video below.
